June 2008 AUSTIN

Pit stop in Waco for some IHOP.

We arrived to stormy weather.

Decent line at check in. Nothing to match the
lines during the race.

Nice shower to clean the roads on Saturday.

Sunday, we arrived and we were pumped.
(Candace, Amanda, Christie, Kim)

And we documented every move.
(Matt, Ryun, Greg)

Kid you not - the line for the portapotties.

Interview with Mr. Mali

The 2nd heat embarks on the journey!

And arrives at the first of many lines. I think by the
time we got to this obstacle, the winners of the race
were sliding down the finish line. (See below for details.)

Hydrate.

Obstacle 1: Pick up wet beer bottle tops with
oven mitts while being sprayed in the face
with water. Score!

Secret clue 1: Outside of Quaks this guy was dressed
like a crazy fairy. He told us to find clue 2 at a bike shop by a frog
painted on a the side of a building. Good thing we aren't
from Austin and we know exactly where that is.
Thank you iPhone/illegal team work.

Clue 2 found at Freewheelin Bikes (yea, the one
by the frog painting.)

What?

Met Matt and Christie at Pease Park. For
some keg-walkin', human wheel barrel fun.

Road rash or battle scares? Whatever you
call 'em, you know she's gone head over heels
for a young man named Matt Butcher.

Yo, your beads are fine, girl.

Matt hauling it into the finish line.

Ryun and Amanda head out.

Human wheel-barrel time, Matt and Christie style.

Ryun and Amanda finish strong.

This is a little piece I like to call "Game Face."

Secret clue #4 - WHAT?

They have no idea either.
And that guy should definitely have a shirt on.

My battle scars courtesy of a vicious bike chain.

Bling.

Chilly plunge.

Race to a buoy and back with a keg. Nice.
How about we just drink it?

Bad shot of the newspaper toss obstacle. Plus
we missed two other obstacles since they were
closing down. Shucks. Time to head back to the
starting line.

Adult sized big-wheelin fun.

Video of grown men and women big-wheelin.

Getting ready for the last leg - the slide.

The slide in video form.

Free-stuff toss. Free socks for everyone!
